Christopher Carey is the co-founder and Managing Director/CEO of Global Hospital Services LLC. Chris has wide-ranging experience in health care markets, health law, health care reimbursement and government relations on a global level. He specializes in managing diverse teams of professionals who can help his clients overcome specific market entry, market competition, or policy-based challenges to their business.
Chris co-founded GHS to help American hospital companies identify, negotiate and operationalize international business development opportunities. Prior to starting GHS, Chris founded Salus Policy Solutions, a health reimbursement and policy consultancy also based in Washington, D.C. SPS continues to offer select clients reimbursement and market research related counsel.
Among his recent work, Chris has helped an international start up conduct market research and develop pro forma financial models for several new hospital projects; aided in the negotiation and drafting of several joint venture and employment agreements; facilitated the recruitment and deployment of several experienced hospital professionals to a new project in Asia, and helped a life sciences company and an investor group assess the impact of global reimbursement policies on products in development.
Prior to founding his current firms, Chris worked for over a decade in the life sciences sector in a variety of reimbursement, policy and advocacy positions, first for Pfizer Inc. in New York City and Washington, DC, then for Edwards Lifesciences LLC. Before entering the private sector, Chris worked on Capitol Hill for nearly a decade, including on the professional staffs of the Education and Workforce and the Ways and Means committees.
Chris received his J.D. from George Washington University and his B.A. from the University of Cincinnati.
